On November 29th we landed on Hosea Kutako International Airport, after a 24 hour delay.
Supporting the locals
Although in most cases the material from these small miners hasn’t the quality for the western mineral collectors, we tried to support them.
Hohenstein
We visited the Hohenstein formation of the Erongo Mountains. At night it’s quite amazing to see all the lights (fires) from the small miners, divided over the sight.

Moon landscaped valley with stunning views! No wonder they shot scenes of the movie “Mad Max” in this valley.

When we arrived, the miners just struck a pocket full of tourmaline crystals. It was an amazing moment and we felt hyped withnesing this moment.
Brandberg mountain
When visiting the Brandberg mountain, we stayed at the the White Lady Lodge. Waking up with this breathtaking view was one of the uniquest moments of our trip. The sun stroke the peeks, which gave an intense red shine.
Ugab river elephants
Living in the Ugab river beds, the “small” African desert elephants.
